👋 Have you heard of our monthly giving program? A monthly gift enables us to plan. We can count on a steady stream of income each month so we can plan our operations accordingly. It means we can hire permanent staff, retain consistent clinic days week to week, supply our pharmacy with the same formulary month to month. When you become a monthly giver, you will receive stories like the one below from Hector and Sandra (pictured below), parents of Flory, a Colegio Susanna Wesley student….“We are grateful to the school and to the people who help us. It is something very big for us. Our capacity is not much, but with the support we have received we have been doing well. Our oldest daughter finished junior high last year and our son is in junior high now. We believe that both the Salud y Paz clinic and the school have been of great help to the entire community. The difference between children who had the opportunity to attend the Salud y Paz school and the children who attend the public school is noticeable. We did not go to school, but we want our children to have more opportunities. Before, our parents did not give importance to education and that is why we did not continue studying. But we see that education is necessary for our children and our goal for them is that one day they will become professionals and even work in a place like the Salud y Paz school or clinic.”Learn more about our monthly giving program by following the link below www.flipcause.com/secure/cause_pdetails/OTQwMzk= ... What Goes Into Your Med Box?Well medicines, yes. But a whole lot of teamwork, laughs and logistics, too. 🙌Did you know that the entire Salud y Paz clinic and warehouse staff work together to prepare the Med Boxes for our teams? From purchasing to systems to counting to packing? The Med Box program is a important symbiotic relationship between our local staff team and our international volunteer teams. By purchasing a Med Box, our teams provide opportunity for our staff to learn new skills and systems. The generous donations we receive of any leftover medicines help to support the cost of providing ongoing care to the chronic patients diagnosed at rural clinics. By preparing Med Boxes, our staff aim to provide a value-added service to our teams, reducing their ordering, luggage and packing, and facilitating a sustainable, locally-sourced pharmaceutical supply specifically designed for the population our teams come to serve. It is a beautiful behind-the-scenes partnership that is key to the way our local staff work in collaboration with our teams to build capacity and improve short and long-term health outcomes in our communities.Thank you for doing this important work with us! ... 👋 Have you ever considered including a charitable organization such as Salud y Paz as one of the beneficiaries of your estate? This is called planned giving, or a charitable bequest, and is an incredible gift that ensures that the work of Salud y Paz can carry on well into the future.Frank and Jan Andersen, long-time volunteers and supporters of Salud y Paz, share why they made the decision to include Salud y Paz in their planned giving:"Meeting with an estate attorney was a profound experience. It forced Jan and me to think more deeply than ever before about what legacy we wanted to leave behind. We had always known that we wanted to provide for our loved ones, but we realized that we also wanted to give back to the organizations that had made such a positive impact on our lives. We wanted to use our resources to help others in need and to make the world a better place. Our church, our alma maters, and our mission projects have always been close to our hearts. They have taught us so much about compassion, service, and the importance of giving back. We believe that these organizations, which include Project Salud y Paz, are doing important work, and we want to help them continue their mission. We know that our legacy gift will make a difference in the lives of others, and that is something that we are very proud of.There are many ways to include a legacy gift in a will or estate plan. We chose to include a percentage of our estate in our legacy gift. This is a way for us to continue to contribute to the work that we care about even after we are gone.We believe that planned giving is a powerful way to make a difference. It is a way to continue to support the causes that we care about and to make the world a better place. We are grateful for the opportunity to give back to Project Salud y Paz, which has enriched our lives while doing so much good for Guatemalan peoples. We hope that our story will inspire others to consider making a legacy gift. It is a way to make a difference in the world and to leave a lasting legacy."If you are interested in learning more about planned giving, contact Executive Director Laura Shearer, or, consult with your attorney. Also, we would love to hear from you if you have already made the decision to make a planned gift for Salud y Paz. ... See MoreSee Less
